New York Father and Daughter Charged in Fatal Car Accident

A 15-year-old girl from Scarsdale, New York and her father have been charged in a car crash that led to three deaths. According to authorities, the underage daughter of Michael Ware was behind the wheel of a car despite not having her driver’s license, then got into an accident that led to the deaths of three of her five passengers, all teenage high school classmates. 

Michael Ware was charged with reckless endangerment, endangering the welfare of children, making false reports, involuntary manslaughter and allowing an unlicensed and unauthorized person to get behind the wheel of his vehicle. He was released after posting $100,000 in bail. He originally told investigators that his daughter did not have his permission to be behind the wheel of the vehicle, but authorities say that this claim was a lie. 

There were also various charges levied against the girl, but juvenile court records are not public and do not allow authorities to comment on the charges. The daughter was injured in the accident, as well as two of her passengers. 

Ware may face additional legal battles beyond these criminal charges in the coming months.
